VIECHOO was founded in 2013 by Yang Tan. Committed to integrating the concept of contemporary art into accessories that can be worn daily, using imperfect textures to create a unique personal language.

Founder

Yang Tan lives and works in Chengdu, China. He Graduated from Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Renmin University of China, obtained double degrees in literature and law.He jumped from rhythmic music and rigorous legal provisions to contemporary art jewelry, hoping to awaken the sleeping free consciousness and reflections on health and spirituality through the medium of contemporary art jewelry.

Due to a medical misdiagnosis in 2019, it took him 5 years to rebuild a healthy mind, and the whole process of spiritual healing was aided by jewelry creation.

The fears, worries and uncertainties of the past are dredged and transformed through jewelry creation, like a kind of yoga of the mind.

  • Heritage jewelry

    Yang Tan began to experiment with making jewelry which originated from his mother's story - the story of the broken limb (for more stories please click on Yang Tan exhibition "Limb" to learn more)


    For the first time in the creation of metal works, Tan Yang materialized memories and used his works to repair the wounds of time.


    After himself experienced mental trauma, he also healed through jewelry creation, so jewelry has a special inheritance significance for him.


    Wearing jewelry, remembering sadness, unhappiness, courage, family and love, accompanies us on our journey, and can also pass on jewelry to the people we believe are important.
